Event Description
Artist Talk: Saturday, September 1 at 4 p.m.
This exhibit features drawings and installations by Charlie Brower. The children's prayer "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" inspired the body of work and influenced the creation of several wash pencil and acrylic paint drawings in black, white and various shades of grey. The principal feature of the exhibit is an installation piece that includes approximately 20 white-stained orchard ladders rising toward the ceiling with a life-size, reclining wooden figure suspended among them. The second component is the series of drawings that act as an extension of Brower's life. Brower makes art to discover where he has been in the past, what he thinks of the present, and where he sees himself going in the future.
