This play, one of Neil Simon's best, tells the story of Herb Tucker, a Hollywood scriptwriter with writer's block who abandoned his New York family 16 years earlier. He and his girlfriend, Steffy, are surprised when his forgotten past reappears in the form of Libby, his bold, adventurous teenage daughter who's hitch-hiked all the way from Brooklyn with dreams of movie stardom. Herb decides to take another stab at fatherhood, and hopefully this time, he will get it right.
