Artist Talk: Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Artist Talk: Thursday, September 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
This exhibition presents works by four artists who use performance strategies to create provocative meditations on identity, sexuality, race and contemporary society. Like many of the figures from the history of art and popular culture who have inspired them, the artists explore the challenges of self and other, confronting fears and fantasies, constructing personas, and risking their bodies in uncontrollable situations with unfamiliar people. The artists will be represented by recent videos and photographs that document their activities, and each artist will present a live event during the run of the exhibition. The exhibit includes works by Laura Ginn, Anya Liftig, Clifford Owens and Jayson Scott Mayson.
