Event Description

Put on your walking shoes and explore Decatur's seven-acre garden and Georgia Piedmont native plant habitat on this guided walking tour of the Woodlands Garden. Volunteer docents are on site to answer questions, and maps and educational booklets are also available. Musical surprises also await in the pavilion. Woodlands began as the home place of the Morse family in 1946. Gradually the Morses added land to bring their property to 7.1 acres and named it "Woodlands." Much was left natural, while around their home the family created a charming cultivated garden, which is now a permanently protected green space.
