Calling Metro ATL Artists for Art & Design Show House!

Fine artists and jewelry artisans have a new opportunity to showcase and sell their work to thousands of affluent metro Atlantans and interior design junkies this May! The Lawrence House Art & Jewelry Gallery will be open for business for three weekends in conjunction with the inaugural Art & Design Show House, a fundraising event by the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art. A percentage of sales on all art and jewelry will benefit the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art.

The Lawrence House will host the festivities of "The Reveal" opening night party and a Johnnie Gabriel cooking demo. Influential, affluent, art-loving crowds are expected to attend the two private events.

Entry Details & Deadline

Artists are asked to submit photos of three original pieces with an entry form by April 1, 2011 to Anna Arnold, gallery project chair, at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art. The final art will be selected by the Lawrence House Art & Jewelry Gallery Committee: a group of professionals with over 50 years of combined experience in the art industry. The entry fee is $25, and the entry form can be found by clicking on “Artists’ Call For Art Entries” on the right side of the project’s Web page: www.ArtAndDesignShowHouse.com. According to Arnold, the committee is specifically seeking an elegant collection of Southeastern art and jewelry.  

More About the Art & Design Show House

The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art has found a creative new way to exhibit art - all in the name of fundraising. The Art & Design Show House will be the first designer showcase to coordinate the interior design "around" the art. The event will captivate both art and design enthusiasts as interior designers use Southern art as the inspiration for each room. The Show House will open to the public May 7-22 and will showcase top interior designers, a fantastic new home design, breathtaking art from Southern artists, and an artists' gallery in the historic Lawrence House located on the property. The 2011 Show House will be located at 21 Whitlock Drive, a property in the Walnut Grove development in historic Marietta directly on Whitlock Avenue. Adjacent to the Show House is the historic 1870 Lawrence House which will serve as the Art & Jewelry Gallery.
