Atlanta PlanIt was created by the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts and Culture Coalition (MAACC)


What is MAACC?
MAACC is the first-ever collaboration among local governments, companies, foundations and arts organizations to support arts and culture in our region. MAACC's mission is "to make the Atlanta region a premier center for the arts and have it recognized as such."

Major goals:

-  To create excitement about, generate community pride in and build new patrons for the many artists and arts organizations presenting work throughout the five-county metro area.

-  To raise public awareness of the important role that arts and culture can play in the growth of the metro Atlanta area. The arts are important for recruiting and keeping businesses; they attract the kind of skilled, well-educated work force that companies desire. The arts also help make our children smarter and more aware of the vibrancy of life and help us understand one another better.

-  To build community support for a stable source of funding for Atlanta-area artists and arts and culture organizations.
